A Brief on What Device this Article is About:
How to Connect 5.1 Speakers To Projector
In order for any speaker to work, it must first receive an audio signal from somewhere else (your TV, laptop screen). When the computer is turned on, it may display the speakers connected to it correctly. Sometimes, the speakers can be recognized as something else or not at all.

Once you have sound, determine which speakers are playing what. In other words, figure out what Voice 1 and Voice 2 each speaker has assigned to it (in a 5.1 setup, they will both be in one of the back channels). After that, join each speaker to its corresponding input on your projector. Now you are ready for any audio that comes from your computer or any other device.

This will work for stereo and 5.1 surround sound computer setup. If you have your computer and projector set up on the same desk, then this process may not be necessary; each device may recognize the other properly.

NOTE: Also, there is no need for you to connect 5.1 speaker cables to your speakers. You can leave them as they are without connecting them to anything. I will show you a cable that you can use to connect the smaller (2) speakers built into your projector to your home audio system (5.1 or greater) after describing how the speakers are built into your projector.

The speakers built into your projector consist of two small satellite speakers with a few lines coming out of the back and two larger speakers that extend out of the front. You may need to remove them (the larger ones in the front) off of your projector in order to see how they are connected to receive sound.

They can be attached by twisting them 90 degrees when they face straight forward while looking at the back side. You can also take apart the back to see the same sound channels.

Once you have determined what channels each speaker is playing, connect them to your home audio system. This can be done with a simple stereo cable or a 5.1 HDMI cable (as explained later on).

Connecting the speakers to your home audio system is easy and takes only a few minutes. However, you do need an audio output on your projector in order for these speakers to communicate with them (the Home Theater PC uses this method of connection). In general, you will want to connect all speakers that are built in your projector as it will blend together better than connecting them separately.

This can be done by reading the above section on "Cables You Need to Connect 5.1 Speakers To Projector." If you have already connected your speakers to your PC and want them to come out of your projector, then check the following:

Some projectors do not have a way for you to change the Audio output. This is because they have a specific setting that does not allow for that. In this case, you will need either a Digital Audio Extractor or an A/V Distribution Amp . These are devices that are capable of copying the audio from your computer's audio out port and transferring it over to another device (your home theater system).
